PLEASE NOTE: As shown in the pictures, this filter consists of 2 inches of filter media in a 4-7/8 inch frame. Why not have 4-7/8 inches of filter media? One might think that the thicker the media, the better the filter. However, this filter uses electrostatic media to trap particles. The media must be compacted to a specific density for the electrostatic fibers to build static electricity and attract dust. They are not like regular paper media filters. The specs of the filter is what's important. This filter has a 94.7% dust arrestance rating and a low air resistance rating of .12" WG. If the media was any thicker...it would create too much air resistance.

When cleaned as directed, your Air-Care filter will give you many years of trouble free use. Failure to properly clean the filter may lessen filter effectiveness, and as with any air filter, it is possible for an excessive dirt buildup to cause air flow resistance sufficient to damage other ventilation components. Depending on your specific situation the filter should be cleaned every 4-6 weeks.
Simply remove the air filter
Flush with water in opposite direction of air flow arrows then rinse other side.
Rinse thoroughly to remove remaining dirt.
Drain excess water and reinstall.
Installation for normal household use is easily performed without professional assistance. Simply remove your old disposable air filter and replace it with your new Air-Care filter. Refer to the filter label regarding air flow direction when installing. For properly designed air systems, a minimum of one square foot of filter surface area is recommended per ton of air conditioning.
