Description

Six vintage 1949 Bill Layne paper calendar page
print
cut-outs, copyright Louis F Dow Co., featuring musical instruments and animals.  Three are framed in Nu-Dell Plastics Corp., Chicago plastic frames with glass and the other three are loose pages.  Loose pages measure approximately 9"x7" and the frames measure approximately 10" x 8".  Included are squirrels with violin / fiddle; polar bear and penguins with accordion; duck with saxophone; monkeys with base drum; raccoons with player piano; and pigs with trombone.  Each calendar page has a catchy rhyme on the back to go with the picture.  As an example -
Squirrels, as a general rule,
Do not go to music school.
And that is why, sure as you're born,
They're fiddlin' fools, and full a-corn
Some age-related discoloration and minor water-staining on the duck-saxophone page (see horizontal stain across duck's head in pictures), but overall in great vintage condition with no mold or mildew.  Thanks for your interest!
