    This 2 oz Silver Koala, featuring a Mother & Baby, is the 1st Release in The Next Generation Series, an All-New series of coins from the Perth Mint.
    The obverse features a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. “ELIZABETH II” and “AUSTRALIA” are inscribed around the rim, along with the weight, purity, denomination, and year of issue.
    The reverse displays a mother koala atop a tree branch with her baby on her back. At birth, baby koalas measure less than 2 cm. They are blind and deaf, but their strong forelimbs help them climb into their mother’s pouch after birth. The mint’s “P” mintmark is seen on this side, along with radial lines.
