    Description

The Northumberland was launched in 1891 and provided decades of service between the Prince Edward Islands and the Dominion of Canada. She was built by Wigham, Richardson & Co. at their Neptune Works at Newcastle-upon-Tyne and became the pride of the fleet of the PEI Charlottetown Steam Navigation Company.  In 1920, the Northumberland was moved to the Great Lakes where she provided service until destroyed by fire in 1949. This small, 6 -1/2" antique plate is in terrific condition and comes with the pictured plate hanger.
