DUNCAN MACLENNAN 455mm Standard Wooden Returning Aboriginal Boomerang Australia Painted. Condition is New, Sealed with Documentation. See photos for details.
This is a sealed 455mm return boomerang from Duncan MacLennan's Boomerang School in Kings Cross, Sydney, Australia. The shop was in business from the 60's until recently so I can't really put an age on this, but I know that it is at least 24 years old
Duncan Maclennan has been the owner and operator of the Boomerang School in King's Cross, Sydney, Australia for several decades. He is well known for giving free boomerang throwing lessons at a park in Sydney every Sunday. The vast majority of his boomerang products are excellent flyers. In the early decades (1960s, 1970s), Duncan employed Aborigines, like Joe Timbery and his family, to make the boomerangs that were sold in his shop. In the 1980s and early 1990s, Duncan had some of his boomerangs manufactured in the Philippines out of Philippine Mahogany plywood. They have been made in Australia since the mid 1990’s.
