14 x 22" Bass Drum, Walnut Finish, 8 lugs.  Model 4247W
Orange/White (3rd Gen) paper tag and SSB (2nd gen): Dates 1978-1979.
(Late serial number, I'd say it's a 1979)
This drum sounds and plays awesome.  The walnut finish is really deep and rich on this drum and the chrome is very good.  Original T-rods and claws.  Interior silver sparkle is in good shape and edges are nice and consistent.
This is definitely a players drum.   At some point (probably right after the drum was purchased) someone added late 70's/early 80's Tama tom mount for an Omnisphere tom holder, and Tama bass drum spurs.  The original Gretsch spur mounts are still present (but no legs).   Later still, someone added Pearl spurs.  Those have been removed and the holes have NOT been plugged.  The maple hoops don't appear to be original (I don't think they are even Gretsch) but they look nice with the walnut.   There are a few nicks and scratches as well.
Even with the extra holes, the Tama spurs are an upgrade and the drum sounds really good.  Focused but great low end.  I originally purchased this for use in the studio and it records VERY well.
