Vintage 1938-46 Nancy Lee By R&B 17” Doll.  Dark Hair Blue Eyes
This doll, despite her issues, has a strong appeal to her. I am tempted to keep her, however,  I live in Texas. Composition dolls don't fare well in this state.
This doll's face doesn't have crazing but she does have a scratch by her right eyebrow. Her hair is fabulous because someone changed out her wig. Her eyelashes are alright.  Probably were replaced. Her lips are red but need touching up.
Her yellow dress looks like it could be original but it is not tagged and is in very delicate shape. The right shoulder is very brittle, has deteriorated and is torn. It does not look repairable in my opinion.
She also has a slip which looks like it was made in the 1950s.  It looks mommy made.
Her pantaloons,  socks, and shoes have been added by me.
Her right big toe is chipped off. Her hip area shows loss of paint. Her body may have been repaired at some point.
On the back of her neck, you can see the R& but not the B. Her neck shows loss of paint on the rim.
Arms and legs show very little crazing. Hardly noticeable.
Maybe there is someone who will be willing to rescue this doll from the Texas heat. She is far from perfect but still worthy of being displayed and enjoyed.
