Offering a vintage, Australian Aboriginal bark painting from Western Arnhem land, from the Djinang language group.
This is signed on the back JIM 20 M and there is an attached paper that states:
Artist: Jim Mordok
Tribe: Djinang
Gultjininning : The Frog and Various Insects
This type of figurative work on plain bark with a ochre colored background is associated with rock drawings. Featured is a large frog, some insects and dotted snakes among the crosshatched leaves.
The bark measures 21 3/4" in length and 6" across at the widest point.  Colors are still good ...lightly muted. Bark has no splits.
