The Yamaha FP-8500C is a high quality, double chain drive single bass drum pedal with advanced features that is adjustable for beater angle, footboard angle, and spring tension. The new footboard is longer and smoother, making this pedal ideal for drummers that play with a heel/toe technique. The pedal frame has a stabilizer bar cast into it below the rocker shaft to eliminate flex. This takes structural pressure away from the axle, keeps the bearings in alignment and gives the pedal a smooth feel whether it is played gently or very hard.
The hole in the beater hub is teardrop shaped so it more securely holds the beater shaft. The Yamaha FP-8500C ships with a hard felt beater, still the favorite type for many drummers. The side-adjustable hoop clamp holds firmly to different thickness hoops and tightens with a wing bolt.
